“Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them.” — Matthew 6:26 (NLT)
Okay. I confess — I worry. I worry about the stack of bills on my desk and whether my money will stretch far enough. I worry about the repairs my home desperately needs and how I’ll manage them. I worry about retirement and whether my future will hold enough security to let me breathe easy.
Sometimes the worries are smaller but just as loud — the unexpected medical bill, the car making a strange noise, the rising cost of groceries, or even the fear of disappointing the people who depend on me.
And that’s when I’m reminded to look at the birds. They don’t fret. They don’t pace the ground wondering how tomorrow will work out. They simply soar — doing exactly what they were created to do.
What have you been created to do? To be a stay‑at‑home mother shaping little hearts to stand strong in an ungodly world? To be a career woman guiding your team through uncertain waters? To be a missionary bringing hope to places most people never see? To be a caregiver, a teacher, a leader, a servant, a friend?
Whatever your purpose, God does not want you to carry the weight of worry. He wants you to live out the calling He placed on your life — fully, joyfully, confidently. He wants you to soar. And He wants you to trust that He will meet your needs just as faithfully as He meets the needs of the birds.
So stop worrying. He’s got you.
